Disclosure: I received the BabySmile Nasal Aspirator for free in exchange for my honest opinion.
Cold and flu season has affected everyone in my household this year. We have all had sore throats, dry coughs, chills, stuffy and runny noses. Most of us can take medicine to help relieve these symptoms. However, for my two-year-old, there aren’t too many medicines on the market that she can take. The ones that are available really don’t help her. One thing that has been helping her is a BabySmile Nasal Aspirator.
What makes this nasal aspirator unique compared to others?
This nasal aspirator runs on electric and is hospital-grade. It is different from mouth suction and bulb aspirators because of its strong electrical power. The aspirator comes with soft silicone tips, which keeps your baby’s nostrils from becoming damaged.
What was my experience with using this nasal aspirator?
I found that the BabySmile S-502 is very easy to use. When I opened the box there was the main unit, an AC adapter, a suction tube, a tip connector, two silicone tips and two user manuals. One of the manuals was actually designed as a comic which was very cute. There was a baby in the comic, which I used to show my daughter how the machine was helping the baby. The design of the aspirator sort of reminds me of a breast pump. It is compact and fits into a diaper bag for traveling.
After I connected the parts onto the main unit I put the silicone tip into a cup of water. Then I turned the unit on to let water flow through the suction tube. The instructions stated to do this first then use it on your nose. It helps the mucus to flow more easily through the suction tube.
I tested the nasal aspirator first, so I could see how strong the suction was before using it on my daughter. It really did clear out my nose. The machine itself is a little loud, but the suction was great. It gets mucus out so easily. There are three levels of power indicated by a number dial on the machine. I tried all three levels, but one was enough for me. The mucus flows through the tube into a container that screws on and off for easy cleaning.
My daughter was still a little hesitant to try it, but my five-year-old was eager. He had a runny nose too, so I let him use it. He liked it and said that his nose felt better. My husband held my daughter the first time that I used it on her. Now she will sit there with no problem while I clear out her nose. She always says, “All better!” when I’m done.

Would I recommend this to others?
I would definitely recommend the BabySmile Nasal Aspirator to anyone with a baby, small child, and even an older child who may get frequent colds and need nasal relief. This product is meant to easily clean out all of the nasal mucus, prevent ear infections as well as other potential baby illnesses. I really wish I would’ve had this product when my children were babies. It would have made cleaning out their noses so much easier.
