Reward your kids with Kudo Banz

Disclosure: I received free Kudo Banz products in exchange for my honest opinion.

In my household one thing that my husband and I believe in is rewarding our children for good behavior. We don’t reward them for every single good deed because we expect them to do good things no matter if they receive a reward or not. However, we do want them to realize that we recognize when they do something good. We want them to know that we are proud of them. That is why when I heard about Kudo Banz I knew that this would be a great tool for my family.

What is Kudo Banz?

Kudo Banz is an amazing reward system for parents to use with their children. You can use it wherever you are since your child wears the band with their rewards around their wrist.

How does Kudo Banz work?

You set goals with your child of what you want them to achieve. It is similar to a sticker chart so you can think of what you would put on one. For example, clean your room, read a book, do something nice for someone. It reinforces positive behavior on a long-term basis. You are not supposed to use it in a negative way such as saying to your child, “If you don’t do this then I will take away a Kudo.” That is not how it is supposed to work.

You can reward your child with a Kudos when they have reached a goal. After your child fills their band with 3 Kudos they can scan the special “3rd” kudo on the Kudo Banz app and spin the reward wheel. The reward wheel can be customized with your own rewards or with the pre-filled rewards. Children can see their progress on the app as they keep moving up to higher levels in Kudo World.

What was my family’s experience with Kudo Banz?

My children really liked wearing their Kudo Banz and earning rewards. When they first put the bands on they were a bit tight but it seems that the more they wore them they began to loosen up a bit. It seems like they were in competition with each other of getting more Kudos so they could beat the other in scanning their band on the app. The last Kudo has a special effect on the app that they enjoy.

I let them pick out their Kudo which they liked since each Kudo has a different picture on it. There are various Kudo themes such as Superhero, Safari, Dinosaur, Sports and more. They also enjoy spinning the wheel to see what reward they will get. I use some of the prefilled rewards as well as some of my own. Some examples of the types of rewards that are listed: Watch a movie/cartoon, family movie, mystery prize, you choose, choose dinner, and play a game.

Will I continue to use Kudo Banz?

Yes, I will. We don’t use the Kudo Banz every day. We may use it every day for a few days then take a break from it. I love it because I already think my children are well behaved but having the Kudo Banz is, even more of an incentive for them to behave well and I like rewarding them for positive behavior.
